Security guard tackles 'lone raider' in Dublin supermarket robbery

Gardaí said the man took some property from the shop and was confronted by the security guard, sustaining a number of injuries.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING a robbery at the Supervalu supermarket on Talbot Street in Dublin yesterday afternoon.

A garda spokesperson told TheJournal.ie that a “lone raider entered the shop and took some property”. He was confronted by the security guard and received a number of injuries. The security guard was unharmed.

The injured man was taken to the Mater Hospital by ambulance. Gardaí said that there have been no arrests so far but that the matter is under investigation.
