Sustainability Diaries: Have you made sustainable changes to your everyday life?

We want to get a sense of everyday changes people are making to become more sustainable – here’s how you can take part.

EVERY DAY EACH one of us makes choices in our lives that affect the environment. Whether it’s the food we eat, the clothes we buy, or the way we travel, our individual carbon footprints are all playing a part in the climate crisis.

We believe that everyone has the power to make small, sustainable changes that can make a difference, and we want to hear from you about your own choices that will have a lasting impact on the world we live in.

An increasing number of people understand the importance of lowering our emissions for the sake of the planet, but with a continued stream of information, we also understand that it can be overwhelming for people to make those sustainable choices and feel that they’re doing the right thing. We want to lift the lid on everyday choices and changes that people can make which will have a lasting effect on the world we live in, and that’s why we’re looking for you to take part in our Sustainability Diary series.

We’ll share your stories in a future article. Please include your name, your age and the county you live in an email along with your story to sustainable@thejournal.ie

Please tell us if you wish to remain anonymous or use your first name only in the piece. We’ve included some questions below that we’d love you to answer.

  • Age?

  • Gender?

  • Occupation?

  • Location?

  • Who you live with?

  • When did you consciously start to make more sustainable choices?

  • What does a typical day look like for you now that you’ve made sustainable changes?
  • What would you say to other people who want to make more sustainable choices but feel overwhelmed by the prospect?
  • Top tips and tricks that you found helpful?

Over the next few weeks we’ll be covering a multitude of sustainability topics with AnPost. Check out more information on the An Post sustainable journey here.

An Post’s purpose is to act for the common good and to improve the quality of life in Ireland, now and for generations to come, and that is why they are committed to embedding sustainability into everything they do.
