A TEENAGE BOY has been charged in connection with an investigation into the rioting that took place outside an Ipas centre in Saggart, Co Dublin last month.
A Garda van set alight and missiles were thrown at gardaí during the disorder on 21 October, after a protest organised in the wake of the alleged sexual assault of a young girl in the area turned to violence.
There were similar scenes the following night near the Citywest Ipas centre, but the crowd was not as large and gardaí managed to push them back more quickly.
Gardaí are continuing to investigate all of the circumstances surrounding the disorder.
A male juvenile, aged in his teens, was today arrested and detained at a Dublin garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
The teenage boy has since been charged in relation to the ongoing investigations.
He is due to appear before Dublin Children’s Court tomorrow morning.
This brings the number of people arrested in relation to the violent disorder to 37, while 28 people have so far been charged.
A garda spokesperson said investigations are ongoing.
