Teenage boy driving a tractor dies following collision in Clare

The crash happened shortly before 2pm on the R458, north of Crusheen.

A TEENAGE BOY has died following a collision in Bunnahow, Co Clare this afternoon.

The 16 year old was driving a tractor on the R458 north of Crusheen.

Emergency services attended the scene of the single-vehicle crash, which happened shortly before 2pm, and the boy was pronounced dead there.

His body was taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick, where a a post-mortem is to take place later.

The road remains closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are currently in place. 

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the R458 between Gort and Crusheen around the time of the collision are asked to make it available to gardaí.
