1. #VOMITING BUG: The HSE has warned that the so-called ‘winter vomiting bug’ is highly contagious and issued guidelines for dealing with infection, as an outbreak continues at two hospitals in Dublin.

2. #PENALTY POINTS: The Department of Transport has given details of sixteen new penalty point offences to be introduced for motorists in 2012 – including not having a clear view through the windscreen, and faulty lights.

3. #DOUBLE MURDER: The person accused of killing Co Down holidaymakers Kathy Dinsmore and Marion Graham in Izmir, Turkey last August will undergo a bone marrow test to prove his age. Recep Cetin claims he is 17, but prosecutors believe he is older.

4. #LENIHAN: Late Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan worked 17-hour days in Government even as he fought the pancreatic cancer that killed him, according to a new RTÉ documentary to be broadcast tonight.

5. #WHAT THE FOCAL?: Former Premiership footballer Stan Collymore – born and bred in Staffordshire, England – has stunned his Twitter followers by tweeting in perfect Irish. So what was that all about?
