• One person has died in a light aircraft crash in Co Waterford.
• A Dublin woman sent threatening messages to Tánaiste Simon Harris, saying “wouldn’t it be terrible if something had happened to your family”, it has been alleged.

• Gardaí seeking to execute a High Court order to imprison Enoch Burke have been unable to locate the former teacher after calling to his home twice yesterday.
• A serving garda arrested yesterday as part of an investigation into a large quantity of drugs going missing from a locker in a Garda station has been released without charge.
• Summonses for alleged speeding, using a mobile phone while driving, not wearing a seatbelt and driving without insurance, which were marked “struck out” or “withdrawn”, were shown to a jury in the trial of four gardaí and a retired superintendent today.
• Irish security services have been monitoring the movements of the Russian ship Yantar as she appeared in waters close to the massive Irish Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) in the North Atlantic.

But at 4pm today – in four degree weather – the line still stretched the length of the Ilac Centre and security workers controlled how many people could enter.
