Trump dismisses health (and death) rumours as 'fake news'

Weekend rumors about Trump’s health proved false, as the president addressed them in person today.

US PRESIDENT DONALD Trump has confirmed that he is not dead.

Speaking today, Trump dismissed social media rumors that circulated over the weekend suggesting he was in poor health, or that he had passed away, calling them “fake news.”

The rumors sparked after Trump was less visible in public than usual, appeared with a bruise on his hand, and the White House flag was flown at half mast.

Officials later clarified that the flag was lowered to honor victims of the Minneapolis school shooting.

At a White House press conference this afternoon, where he announced that the Space Force command headquarters would move to Alabama, Trump addressed the speculation directly.

Asked how he found out he was “dead,” he told reporters: “I didn’t see that. That’s fake news.”

“Last week I did numerous news conferences, all successful, they went very well. Then I didn’t do any for two days, and they said there must be something wrong with me,” he added.

Trump also once again compared himself to former President Joe Biden, saying: “He wouldn’t do conferences for months, and nobody ever said there was anything wrong with him.”

Over the weekend, Trump said he gave a news interview, appeared on multiple television shows, and posted a number of updates on his social media platform Truth Social.

“I was very active over the weekend,” he said.
