Feud explodes between Trump and former MAGA loyalist Greene over upcoming Epstein vote

Greene says she’s been warned about threats to her safety after Trump vowed to help remove her from Congress.

A WIDENING RIFT between Donald Trump and Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has burst into public view, with Greene claiming she has been warned about threats to her safety after the US president abruptly withdrew his endorsement and urged Republicans to unseat her.

Greene, once one of Trump’s most loyal defenders, said yesterday that she had been contacted by private security firms “with warnings for my safety”, alleging that a “hot bed of threats” was being fuelled by “the most powerful man in the world”.

Although she did not name Trump directly, she said the attacks were coming from “the man I supported and helped get elected”.

The Georgia congresswoman warned that aggressive rhetoric aimed at her had “historically led to death threats”, accusing Trump of emboldening “radicalised” online actors.

The claims came a day after Trump labelled her “wacky” and a “traitor”, declared he was no longer supporting her re-election, and said he would back a primary challenger.

The dramatic escalation caps months of tension between the pair, driven largely by Greene’s push to force the Department of Justice to release the full cache of documents relating to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation — a move Trump has dismissed as a “Democrat hoax”.

Greene is one of only four House Republicans supporting the measure, which is expected to come before Congress next week.

Greene has also criticised Trump’s approach to rising household costs, foreign policy decisions and what she describes as a retreat from the ‘America First’ doctrine.

Trump, for his part, has accused Greene of having “lost her way”, turned “far left”, and of frequently calling him with “ranting” demands.

The feud marks a remarkable rupture for a lawmaker who rose to prominence as a staunch MAGA firebrand.

Greene had previously defended Trump through multiple scandals, including the aftermath of the 6 January attack and accusations of antisemitic conspiracy-peddling.

Greene has denied she is abandoning the Republican Party but has sharpened her attacks on its leadership, saying this month that Congress had become “an embarrassment” and calling for women to “pave a new path”.

Her break with Trump comes as the president attempts to consolidate loyalty ahead of the 2026 midterms.

Trump has already signalled he will target Republicans he views as insufficiently supportive, including those backing the Epstein files resolution.
