Two hospitalised following Limerick crash

Two men are being treated for serious injuries at Cork University Hospital and Limerick Mid Western Regional Hospital, Gardaí said this morning.

GARDAÍ IN LIMERICK are investigating a serious two-car crash that happened in the early hours of this morning at Pallasgreen.

The two cars collided at Knockane Cross at Garrydoolis between 1am and 1.30am today.

Two men have been taken to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of one car, who is in his early 50′s, was removed to Limerick Mid Western Regional Hospital but was later transferred to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries.

The passenger of the same car, a man in his mid-30′s, remains at the Limerick hospital and his injuries have also been described as serious.

The driver of the second car was uninjured.

The road remains closed for examinations and diversions are currently in place.

Gardaí at Bruff said they are investigating the accident but any witnesses are asked to contact the station on 061 382 940 or the confidential line on 1 800 666 111.
