LAST WEEK, WE asked you to share your tips on how to make life that little bit easier.
You guys responded in droves with all your tips and tricks. Many thanks to every who commented on last week’s article and shared their great ideas and experiences.
Based off this response, we decided to compile some of the best into a handy guide to making the daily lives of Irish people a little easier, from small things like jobs around the house to bigger things like minding yourself.
Here we go…
In advice that can be applied to many situations, a commenter going by the The Twit had this to say:
Say thank you and smile to your customers or those serving you… it maybe the only smile they receive that day and it’s completely free!
It’s true that no matter what you’re up to in life, it’s a lot easier when done with a smile.
Even the best of us struggle to get out of the leaba during week. Mornings are a hurdle for many of us (and don’t get us started on Mondays). For those night owls among us, Ricky McCabe had this advice:
Lay your clothes out the night before for work …nothing worse than having to organise clothes at 6.30 am on a cold wet dark winter’s morning
Dead right, Ricky.
Got your struggles with matching up socks? It’s a job that precious few like, but we all have to do. Maire Bailey came in with this stormer of a tip:
When you take off a pair of socks put them in a pair before you put them in the laundry basket. That’s if they match in the first place.
Another ingenious way to make day-to-day chores a little easier came in from John Donohoe:
Closing the duvet cover before a wash stops it swallowing the rest of the clothes
Ah. Now it all makes sense.
Exercising – even just a little bit – everyday can clear your head, is good for the body and will keep you happy. Helen Farrell is right when she says:
Get outside for a walk as much as you can.
It’ll stand to you.
A bit of perspective from Mary Cullinane:
Don’t sweat the small stuff & remember no matter what crap is going on in your life now IT WILL PASS.
One thing that makes life a touch easier is Visa contactless. Now you can pay up to €30 with just the touch of your cards – in more shops, bars and restaurants around Ireland than ever before. It’s easy, it’s handy, it’s secure and it’s one way to make your day go by that little bit smoother. Find out more at visa.ie.
