WATCH: North Korea's new leader in action

Check out Kim Jong-un as he meets schoolchildren, tests mattresses and… strokes stuffed animals?

IT’S NOT ALL gravy being the new leader of the world’s most secretive dictatorship. There’s always work to be done – whether it’s meeting schoolchildren testing mattresses, or stroking what appear to be large stuffed animals.

In this footage released by North Korean state TV, new leader Kim Jong-un – who took the reins after his father Kim Jong-il died last year – is shown visiting a model school in the country’s capital Pyongyang.

Senior military officers assiduously note down his words as he tries out technology and looks at photos. And then there are the stuffed animals. (Are they bears?)
