Wrap up well! Freezing weather ahead with temperatures set to fall as low as -4°C this weekend

Temperatures will hit below freezing this weekend.

COLD WEATHER IS set to return this evening as temperatures hit freezing in many places across the country.

According to Met Éireann, temperatures throughout the day are forecast to stay between seven and nine degrees in light winds. There will be some bright spells and it will remain mostly dry.

By tonight, lows of zero to two degrees are forecast for many places, with frost likely to develop.

Patchy mist will be visible in a number of places across the country but it will remain dry.

Things are set to get colder each following night as we go through the weekend.

Temperatures will drop below freezing on Friday night with frost again developing in places.

Saturday and Sunday could see temperatures as low as minus four with widespread frost possible.

Things should then become a bit milder as next week progresses.
