Weather watch

At last: Springlike weather from now till St Patrick's Day

Finally. FINALLY.

WE’VE BEEN TEASING you with the news of milder weather this week, and it looks like it has finally landed.

But how will the weekend be?

In its forecast for the day, Met Éireann says that it will be mostly cloudy today, and that though there will be outbreaks of rain and drizzle in parts of Connacht and Ulster, it will be mainly dry elsewhere.

We can also expect maximum temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees.

Tonight will be cloudy, with temperatures of six to eight degrees.

Tomorrow will see more cloud, but higher temperatures – hitting 11 to 14 degrees at their peak. Sunday night will be cold, but during the day it will be bright and with temperatures hitting from 11 to 13 degrees.

As for the outlook for next week, Met Éireann says:

Headline: Mild and mainly dry, settled conditions throughout next week, though temperatures falling back slightly after midweek.

St Patrick’s Day will be a dry day with bright or sunny spells.

We’re looking forward to that.
