Westlife release new song penned by Ed Sheeran as band marks 25th anniversary

It’s not the first time Sheeran has collaborated with Westlife.

ED SHEERAN HAS once again teamed up with Westlife as the band prepares for its 25th anniversary celebrations.

Westlife recently announced a five-night run of shows at the 3Arena as part of a 25th anniversary world tour.

The band has since upped this to 13, with the gigs taking place in Dublin next September.

Westlife will also play five nights next October in Belfast’s SSE Arena.

Tickets for the shows are now on sale.

Ahead of the world tour, Westlife has released a new song called Chariot, written by Ed Sheeran and Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid and produced by long-time Westlife collaborator Steve Mac.

The new song is described as a “powerful, life-affirming anthem that celebrates love, family and the moments that truly matter”.

It will feature on Westlife’s forthcoming album 25 – The Ultimate Collection, which will be released on 13 February 2026 to celebrate their 25th anniversary.

The album will feature 21 fan favourites such as You Raise Me Up, Uptown Girl, and Flying Without Wings as well as brand-new music, such as a Chariot.

The band remarked that the “support from our fans has been unbelievable” and added that they “can’t wait to see you all on the road and share this next chapter together”.

Westlife has achieved 36 No.1 albums worldwide, sold over 55 million records, and sold more than 6 million concert tickets around the world.

It’s not the first time Ed Sheeran has lent his songwriting skills to Westlife.

He penned their 2019 comeback single Hello My Love, which was featured on the album Spectrum – Sheeran had songwriting credits for five songs on that album.
