DON’T MIND HAM and turkey sandwiches, for some today is all about the Winter Sales which have already begun in some shops this morning.
Some retail outlets on Grafton Street have been open from as early as 6am, with a few keen shoppers laden with bags spotted milling around the famous Dublin city street while it was still dark.
As the picture evidence below shows there were queues outside Brown Thomas a full two hours before it opens at 9am this morning.
And this was the scene just before it opened at 9am this morning with BT tweeting this pic:
Meanwhile in the Brown Thomas in Cork it was similar scenes, with Jonathan Levy sending us this picture of the queue outside the Patrick Street outlet:
Madness, we say, but some people love a bargain.
Before all that, Conor Neylan reports that he was all alone on Grafton Street at around 10pm last night when not a soul was in sight.
“I videod around 10pm for two whole minutes near BT as not a single person walked along the street to admire all those twinkling lights or shop windows. I had Dublin’s busiest street all to myself just before the sales crush begins!” he says.
