A YOUNG MEATH mother picked up a €350,000 prize the first time she played the lottery.
The anonymous mother scooped the prize after hearing that fellow Meath residents had won a €10.6 million jackpot a fortnight ago.
The woman bought her winning €4 quick pick ticket last Thursday in the Topaz service station in Palmerstown after hearing about the Trim family’s good fortune.
She says that she checked the ticket in work, but managed not to alert co-workers to her win.
After I checked the ticket on Monday, I went into the loo in work and just stared at the ticket. I wanted to jump up and down and scream and shout – it was the most unbelievable feeling I’ve ever had. It was so difficult to not say anything in work but I stuck to my guns.
She plans to head to Australia and buy a house with the money.
“I’d love to go to Australia – just land over there, scoot around for a few weeks, and bring the kids with me. We could have a brilliant time in the sun. I’m also going to buy a home to call my own, have a bit of comfort in life and look after my kids.”
