Poll: Would you recommend tourists visit the Blarney Stone?

Lonely Planet survey recommends that visitors to Ireland give the famous kissing stone a miss…

SEVEN OUT OF ten people who took part in a survey on Europe’s must-see tourist attractions have said they wouldn’t advise a visit to the Blarney Stone.

The Lonely Planet survey of 13,000 people included the Stone in its list of ten famous monuments and asked if readers would advise others to “see or skip” them. While the Blarney Stone was a “skip”, Stonehenge – England’s most famous pile of rocks – got the thumbs-up from a majority of respondents.

The admission price to Blarney Castle, which also allows you to visit the landscaped gardens, dungeons, lake walk and of course, kiss the Stone, is €10 per adult, with concessions for children, students, OAPs and family groups.

What do you think? Would you recommend a visitor to take a trip to Blarney to kiss the Stone?
