Gardaí discover 600 cannabis plants in a house in Cork

A man was arrested at the scene of the house raid.

GARDAI IN CORK discovered 600 cannabis plants in a house at Ron Na Killa, Tarelton, County Cork yesterday.

Gardai from the West Cork Drug Unit assisted by gardai from Macroom searched the house and estimate the seizure has an approximate street value of €480,000.

The gardai state that there was a sophisticated cultivation system in operation.

Arrest

A 31-year-old man was arrested at the house and brought to Bandon Garda station where he is being detained under the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

The scene remains sealed off for a technical examination.
