It’s really low when criminals have to target the most vulnerable and easiest of targets. Hope she’ll make a speedy recovery.

I think we can all agree the attack would not be ok under any circumstances. It’s very depressing that people will resort to this. I hope they have enough evidence to charge the guy

Rage. I think about this happening to my grandmother and my blood absolutely boils.

There is a horrible beast growing in our society. Streets everywhere have become dangerous. I am a 32 year old male and have to walk with my head down for fear of being attacked at times. People have no respect for each other anymore. Everybody blames drink and drugs which is rubbish! Social and Community programmes that everybody is evolved in is the only way to bring all sectors of society together with understanding and respect. I hope this poor lady recovers well and I hope that real justice is brought to the fu(ker that did it! There is a lot of news lately that shows how sad our country has become!

Lack of real consequences to the perpetrators of this type of crime is one reason these criminals try their hand …. I really hope this lady recovers from her ordeal . I also hope that the guy they have arrested is the real villain and gets his just desserts. Yer man must really be a cowardly bastard to hurt a frail elderly lady.

Mind boggling!!!!!

I saw an old man getting robbed outside the castle in kilkenny a couple of months back, he was a tourist like myself.

My school bus went from there, I’d never think of Kilkenny like this but unfortunately from recent news articles things have obviously changed in Kilkenny.
