Man and woman found in Carlow ‘died from gunshot wounds’

The man and woman are believed to be in their 50s and were found in different rooms.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING the discovery of two bodies at a premises in Carlow – and say it appears the deceased suffered from gunshot wounds.

Gardaí in Carlow said they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of two bodies at a premises at Centaur Street, Carlow Town at approximately 1.30pm today.

On RTÉ’s 9 O’Clock news, a garda spokesperson said that the male and female, both believed to be in their 50s, were discovered in two different rooms at the premises.

The woman’s body was found upstairs and the man’s body was found downstairs. They have been removed for a post-mortem.

The Garda Technical Bureau and the deputy State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis attended the scene.  The post post-mortems on the man and woman are scheduled to take place tomorrow morning at Naas General Hospital.

Gardaí are appealing to any persons who were in the area of Centaur Street between 10pm last night and 1pm today who may have seen anything unusual to contact Carlow Garda Station at 059  9136620, the Garda Confidential Line 1 800 666 111 or any garda station.
