'Badly decomposed' body found in Phibsboro house

A post mortem is due to take place and the State Pathologist has been informed of the death.

A BODY HAS been found in a derelict house in Phibsboro, gardaí confirmed this evening.

They could not confirm the sex or age of the person discovered, but said the alarm was raised shortly after midday today. Gardaí said this evening that the body found at Royal Canal Bank West in the Phibsboro area of Dublin was “badly decomposed”.

The State Pathologist has been informed and a post-mortem is due to take place tomorrow.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination.

It is not yet known if the death was suspicious and gardaí said that the post-mortem will determine the nature of the investigation.
