Burglars pretending to be gardaí force their way into elderly man's home

An undisclosed sum of cash was stolen.

TWO MEN FORCED their way into the home of an elderly man in Co Louth, leaving with a sum of cash.

Gardaí are investigating the burglary, which occurred at a house on Duleek Street in Drogheda at about 12.15pm yesterday.

The burglars identified themselves as members of An Garda Síochána and, when asked for identification, became aggressive. Luckily the man, believed to be in his late 70s, wasn’t injured in the incident.

An undisclosed sum of cash was stolen. No arrests have been made to date and investigations are continuing.
