Tributes have been paid to Brenda Fricker, the legendary Irish actress best known for her roles in My Left Foot and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, who has died at the age of 81

Fricker made history in 1990 by becoming the first Irish actress to win an Oscar. She was awarded Best Supporting Actress for her performance in My Left Foot.
