Man dead and seven others injured in Carlow road crash

Three are seriously injured after the two-car collision on the Old Bagenalstown Road.

A MAN IN his 40s has died and seven others have been injured in a two-car collision in Co. Carlow this evening.

The crash happened at about 5.00 pm on the Old Bagenalstown Road to Carlow at Ballybannon.

The seven people injured in the crash have all been taken to St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny with three having suffered serious injuries.

At present there are no further details about the age or gender of those injured.

The road is currently closed for a technical examination of the scene and gardaí are appealing for witnesses of the crash to contact them.
