TWO YOUNG MEN have died in a road crash that happened in the early hours of this morning near the Derry-Donegal border.

The single-vehicle crash involved a black Volkswagon Golf and happened on the Victoria Road, between Newbuildings and Magheramason.

The area is about 7km south of Derry and is close to the border with Donegal.

PSNI officers investigating the crash are appealing for anyone who saw a black Volkswagon Golf travelling from Strabane towards Derry between 3 am and 3.30 am to contact them.

The Victoria Road remains closed for investigators and diversions are in place.
