RED CROSS TEAMS from across Europe gathered in Dundalk at the weekend to deal with falls, sword attacks, road crashes and farming accidents.
They were competing to be named the most knowledgeable and skilled first aid team on the continent. They underwent eight hours of gruelling tasks from simulated sports accidents to falls from buildings.
Team Italy emerged victorious, beating out 20 other teams.

This was a great event and a lot of hard work went in to making it the success that it was. Well done has to be said to the members of the Dundalk branch and the Louth Area in general for their hard work and dedication to the project for well over a year.
I live in Dundalk and have to say it was great to see all the red cross volunteers actively competing through the town over the entire weekend. It also meant that you could get sick anywhere around Dundalk over the weekend and feel safe in the knowledge you’d be well looked after!
