Man arrested after attacking two gardaí during search

The gardaí were taken to the Mater Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.

A MAN HAS been arrested after he attacked two gardaí today in Dublin.

The 25-year-old was stopped by gardaí on Sheriff Street in Dublin’s north inner city for a search earlier today.

During the course of the search the man became aggressive and attacked two members of the force.

The gardaí were taken to the Mater Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.

They have since been released.

The man was arrested and is being detained at Store Street Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

A quantity of tablets was seized and are currently being analysed.

Gardaí said that investigations are continuing.
