Ready, set, BAKE: The Great Irish Bake Off is looking for contestants

The British version has been a huge hit – but how will Irish contestants fare with their cakes, tarts and pies?

THINK YOU KNOW your Bakewall tart from your battenberg? Got a secret recipe for pies that you guard jealously?

If so, read on: TV3 are looking for contestants for the Irish version of the hugely successful BBC show based on baking which is due to hit Irish screens in the new year.

The Great Irish Bake Off, which is based on – yes, you guessed it – The Great British Bake Off  will be presented by Anna Nolan. Contestants will be assessed by a crack team of judges, including Biddy White Lennon, who appeared in RTE soap opera The Riordans before becoming a noted cook and food writer.

The Great British Bake Off has become a surprise hit for the BBC with more than 4.5 million people tuning in to each episode.

Potential contestants have until 15 October to apply here on the TV3 website. Be prepared to answer questions about your signature bake, your baking repertoire and some photos of your best results.
