Man seriously injured after shooting in Lucan estate

The incident in the west Dublin suburb took place at about 10.30pm.

A MAN WAS rushed to hospital this evening after being seriously injured in a shooting incident in an estate in west Dublin.

The shooting happened just before 10.30pm at Abbeywood Court just off the Castle Road in Lucan.

The 46-year-old man was seriously injured and was taken to Blanchardstown hospital.

Part of the estate has been sealed off by gardaí to allow for a technical examination.

Gardaí are asking anyone who may have been in the Abbeywood area tonight and who may have seen any unusual or suspicious behavior around the time of the shooting to contact them.

Anyone who saw a car leave the scene should also contact gardaí in Lucan on 01-6667300 or the garda confidential line on 1800 666 111.
