Man arrested after discovery of body in Macroom house

Gardaí are investigating the suspicious death of a 42-year-old man whose body was found at the home.

A 30-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested after a body was discovered yesterday at a house in Macroom, Co Cork.

The suspect was taken into custody last night by gardaí investigating the death of a 42-year-old man, whose body was found at a home in the Massytown area at around 10am yesterday.

He is being questioned by officers at Bandon garda station, where he is detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Assistant state pathologist Margaret Bolster examined the area where the body was found yesterday. She is due to conduct a post mortem this morning at Cork University Hospital.
