Gardaí arrest 60-year-old man after stabbing in Wexford

A 34-year-old man was seriously injured and taken to Waterford Regional Hospital, where his condition is described as serious but stable.

GARDAÍ IN WEXFORD have arrested a 60-year-old man after a stabbing in New Ross last night.

The incident occurred at around 9.30pm, in a house on Grange Road in the town.

A 34-year-old man was seriously injured and taken to Waterford Regional Hospital, where his condition is described as serious but stable.

The 60-year-old was arrested shortly after the incident and is being detained at New Ross Garda station under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The scene is being preserved for a technical examination.

Gardaí in New Ross are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them on 051 426030, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
