Man in his 60s dies in Mayo quad bike farm incident

Gardaí say the man was found under a quad bike and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A MAN IN his 60s has died in a quad bike incident in Mayo.

It happened yesterday evening on a farm near the village of Ballyheane, outside Castlebar. Gardaí were called to the scene shortly after 8.30pm.

It’s understood the farmer died when his quad bike overturned.

Gardaí say the man was found under a quad bike and was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been removed to Mayo University Hospital for a post mortem examination.

Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority are investigating.
