RTe reporting that he was one of the people who got his conviction quashed when the Supreme Court ruled Offences Against the State search warrants unconstitutional. I love a bit of irony.

Another shooting in good old Ireland, we should send on of the new Garda vans to take statements. It seems that the criminals are seeing the dilution of the Gardaí as an invitation to do whatever the hell they want!

or night…….Respect for human life is at an all time low…….Many will remember years ago, if 2 lads had a beef with

each other in a bar, both would go out the back and hammer the daylights out of each other….At worst a few black

eyes, swollen lips, bloodied nose and a few minor scratches……

And this is where we are now, produce a gun and shoot someone…

4 unmarked cars flew by me on the gormanstown road , when I got up to the pub the guards were outa the cars with guns and vests on them !

Alot of the people commenting are missing the point here, the fantastic and nave work done by Gardai involved despite the well published lack of resources! Minister Shatter may try and portray that there are adequate resources available to Gardai bu due to the ‘exigencies of the force’, I have been on a post on my own in my own personal vehicle for the past 16 hours….this was not by choice bit simply due to the fact that it was the only option available! My choice was that or remain standing in the rain on my own like the first 6 hours! On a more serious note….a death is a death and Gardai look at murder the same light regardless of the deceased past! So should everyone else!

Another pillar of the community taken out ,,,,, live by the sword die by the sword. Id like to say as long as there only targeting each other but we all no another innocent bystander may get caught up in the line of fire. Not to mention the garda man hours investigating the trash.

A tragedy for his family. Otherwise, no loss.
Hope the Gardai will put a stop to any para-military displays at the funeral.

That sounds like the sort of thing that these so called freedom fighters would do, they are idiots and that’s a nice word for them. Or are you just another ticket seller for these fools who have no mandate for their pure criminal goings on , threats and intimidation is all they know ,if they are that concerned about making this country “United” why don’t they get a bus load of RSF and like minded idiots and park on the Shankill Road in Belfast and tell these ” invaders ” to leave our shores and as you can see my name is their in full , can’t see it happening though as they would not have the guts . Some really nasty little people on here. Regardless of what the victim may or may not have been doing, every life has value and dignity and no one deserves to be shot down in the street. It’s easy to spout this bitter crazy but if you knew the depth of suffering this man’s family will go through for years, you would hang your head in shame. If you rejoice in any death, then you will one day see people rejoicing in the deaths of someone close to you. You should not rejoice or celebrate the death of even your worst enemy. You only belittle yourself and degrade our society even more

Paul I have far more interest in the depths of suffering that would be endured by innocent people if these guys had there way. Arrested last year in possession of bomb components says it all. I personally bear no pity or remorse those who engage in such activities.
