Poll: Should changes be made to Rent Pressure Zones?

Rent Pressure Zones expire at the end of the year and Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said there is time to examiner whether an ‘alternative system’ can be developed.

TAOISEACH MICHEÁL MARTIN yesterday said that the government could look at developing an ‘alternative system’ to Rent Pressure Zones when they expire at the end of the year.

The alternative system could be that of “reference rents”, which would peg rent increases to a reference rent for local dwellings of similar quality.

The Irish Property Owners’ Association today said it is “delighted” that the Taoiseach has signalled there could be changes coming to Rent Pressure Zones.

So in today’s poll we want to know: Should changes be made to Rent Pressure Zones?

Poll Results:

Yes (2597)
It depends on the alternative (1576)
No (1529)
Unsure (391)
