Judge rules couple accused of sex slavery can be named
The two are accused of a number of offences against the women – one of whom has a severe learning disability.
A COUPLE IN Northern Ireland who have been accused of a number of offences in connection with sexual slavery have been named today following a court ruling on media reporting restrictions.
The two have now been named as 57-year-old Keith Baker and 51-year-old Caroline Bernadette Baker from Drumellen Mews, Craigavon, Armagh, according to the BBC.
Keith Baker is facing 15 charges including rape, voyeurism, human trafficking for sex offences and sexual assault. His wife is also accused of eight offences against the women – one of whom suffers from a serious learning disability.
Today, Judge Rosemary Watters said she was lifting reporting restrictions as the court has “no power to implement them in these circumstances”, the Sunday World reports.
The case is due back in court at the end of February and Keith Baker remains in custody while his wife has been remanded on continuing bail.
