Man (25) shot at his home in Carlow

The man opened his front door at 2.25am and was then shot a number of times in the stomach and knee.

A MAN WAS shot a number of times at his home in Carlow this morning.

Gardaí in Carlow are investigating the shooting incident, which occurred at Burrin Road at approximately 2.25am.

A 25-year-old man answered a knock to his front door, and when he opened it he was shot a number of times. He received injuries to his knee and stomach and was taken to St Lukes Hospital, Kilkenny to be treated for his injuries.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Investigating gardaí are appealing for witnesses or any person with information to contact the incident room at Carlow Garda Station at 059 9136620, the Garda confidential line 1-800-666-111 or any garda station.
