Shots fired at two Meath homes last night

An investigation has been launched and gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

SHOTS WERE FIRED at two Meath homes just before midnight last night.

It happened in Woodview Heights housing estate in Dunboyne.

No one was injured during the incident in which a car pulled up before shots were fired.

A short time later a fire was reported at a house in Broadford, Co Kildare – which is around 40 kilometres away from the Meath estate.

A man and a woman were arrested at the scene and are being held at Ashbourne garda station.

An investigation has been launched and it’s understood that there may be a link between the incidents.

Gardaí say they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.

Both scenes of the shootings have been preserved and gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
