SNOW AND ICE are widespread across the country this morning with further snowfall forecast for the day ahead.
It’s expected in parts of Leinster and in the north and east of Munster – especially on high ground.
Many people have woken to the snow this morning, here are some photos we received from across the country.
These two photos show quite the scene at Cashel in Tipperary.
Upperchurch village in the Tipperary hills certainly hasn’t escaped the elements.
We also got sent in these snow filled photos from Waterford (with a very cute dog included for good measure).
This housing estate in Portlaoise is covered in snow.
And Castle Durrow in Laois has posted these beautiful photos from the estate.
The view on the train from Dublin to Cork looked like a Christmas scene outside Portlaoise.
Meanwhile, the view from a train near Enfield, Meath looked equally festive – if it wasn’t March.
Hollyhill in Cork is also looking like a winter wonderland.
There was also plenty of the white stuff in Summerhill in Meath.
This was Carbury in Kildare at around 7.30 this morning.
These two jokers are taking full advantage of the snow in Allenwood, Kildare. We’re informed that they got up at 6.30 to make this snowman before school. Fair play.
It was also the first time seeing snow for some little people in Tipperary – and it looks like they approve.
