Poll: Should animals at risk of the Ebola virus be killed?

Excalibur, the pet dog of an infected Spanish nurse, is due to be euthanised.

SPANISH AUTHORITIES HAVE ordered the death of a dog owned by a nurse infected by the Ebola virus.

Madrid’s department of health have argued that, even if the animal isn’t showing symptoms of the virus, he may still be a carrier and could expel the virus in his fluids.

But the decision has sparked protests both online and on the streets with people calling for Excalibur to be tested for Ebola before any decision is taken to euthanasia him.

Today’s poll: Should animals at risk of the Ebola virus be killed?

Poll Results:

Yes, but only if they've tested positive (2403)
Yes, waste no time and take no risks (2124)
No, they should be treated like humans (1055)
