Poll: Do you support the striking rail workers?

A one day strike is expected to go ahead from midnight tonight.

WORKERS AT IRISH Rail will strike from midnight tonight in industrial action which is expected to affect over 150,000 commuters.

The National Bus and Rail Union (NBRU) says that the strike revolves around a lack of pay rises for staff over the last decade. It has also claimed that members have not received a pay rise in the last 10 years.

Staff are seeking a 3.75% increase. They believe that the National Transport Authority is underfunding the company.

Last week, the union announced that it was to strike on five different days over the next two months including the day of the Ireland Vs Denmark game on 14 November as well 8 December – a traditionally busy day for Christmas shopping in the capital.

So, this morning we’re asking: Do you support the striking rail workers?
