Man's death in Bantry "suspicious"

Man in his 70s has been arrested after body of 53-year-old man is found in Co Cork town.

THE DEATH OF a man found in Bantry, Co Cork this evening has been described as “suspicious”.

The 53-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene just outside the town where his body was found at around 5.20pm today.

A man in his 70s has been arrested in relation to the death and has been taken to Bantry Garda station where he is being detained and questioned.

The area where the body was found is being examined by forensic specialists and a member of the State Pathologist’s office is due at the scene.
