A 14-YEAR-OLD girl has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a teenage boy in London yesterday.

Scotland Yard said the girl is being detained for questioning at a police station in the south of the city as part of a murder investigation.

A 15-year-old was found with serious injuries understood to be stab wounds after police were called to a disturbance on the Loughborough Estate in Brixton at about 9.25pm last night.

Officers were assisted by the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance but the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives believe they know the identity of the victim but await formal identification. Family members have been informed.

The homicide unit has started its inquiries and an incident room has been established. Detective Chief Inspector Charles King has appealed for anyone who may have information to come forwards.

The stabbing is not thought to be gang-related, according to the Met Police.
