Hot week ahead with temperatures set to reach the mid 20s

Showers are due to ease on Wednesday, with highest temperatures on Thursday.

THE WEEK AHEAD looks set to be hot and humid, but cloudy at times with scattered showers.

However, the showers are expected to ease on Wednesday and Thursday, with temperatures hitting the mid-twenties on Thursday.

Today will start mild and mostly cloudy with scattered outbreaks of rain in places.

While it will become drier and brighter with sunny spells as the day goes on, the showers are due to appear again in the afternoon. It will be very warm with highest temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees.

Tomorrow will be very mild and humid staying mostly cloudy for the day. There will be patchy rain at times but sunny spells will break through in some parts with highs of 21 degrees.

Met Eireann says it will be warm and mainly dry on Wednesday and Thursday and in many places on Friday also.

Wednesday will start cloudy, but cloud will break up well during the afternoon with sunny spells developing and sunshine also expected on Thursday. Highest temperatures are expected to hit the low-twenties on Wednesday and the mid-twenties on Thursday.

Friday looks cloudy with some showers breaking out in western areas.
