Gardaí search home of Gerry 'The Monk' Hutch in north Dublin operation

Hutch is reported to have left the country after his brother’s funeral on Friday.

GARDAÍ HAVE CARRIED out searches across north Dublin this morning, including at the home of Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch.

A garda spokesperson confirmed “a number of operational searches were carried out in Clontarf”. In total there were 11 searches across the northside of the city.

It is understood the home of Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch was among the properties searched as part of the investigation into the recent shooting at the Regency Hotel.

Around 100 gardaí were involved in the raids, which began at around 7am.

Hutch’s brother Eddie was shot dead at his home on Poplar Row on 8 February. His murder is believed to have been in retaliation for the fatal shooting of David Byrne, an associate of the Kinahan gang,  at a boxing weigh-in at the Regency days earlier.

His funeral took place on Friday and Gerry Hutch is reported to have left the country after the mass.
