Three arrested in connection with Ger McMahon murder

A total of six people have now been arrested over the killing of 43-year-old Ger McMahon in Limerick last week.

THREE MEN HAVE been arrested in connection with the murder of Ger McMahon in Limerick last week.

The 43-year-old was found seriously injured outside a house at Lenihan Avenue just after midnight on 18 January.

He had suffered multiple stab wounds and was taken to Mid-Western Regional Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Two men aged in their 20s were arrested in Limerick this afternoon and are now being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at Roxboro Road and Mayorstone Garda Stations.

Yesterday, a man aged in his 30s was also arrested in Limerick and is being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, at Bruff Garda Station.

This brings to six the number of people arrested in relation to this investigation. On Monday, one man aged in his 30s, a woman in her 40s and a female juvenile were arrested in the Mungret area of Limerick and subsequently held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
