Seven men arrested over Tipperary burglary still being questioned

The men are all being detained at different garda stations.

SEVEN MEN WHO were arrested by gardaí in connection with an aggravated burglary in Tipperary are continuing to be questioned.

The burglary took place shortly after 3am on Thursday morning, when a gang of up to seven men broke into a family home in Killenaule, Thurles.

Two of the suspects were subsequently intercepted at Newland’s Cross as they tried to make their escape in the family’s 4X4 vehicle.

Following this, a further five men were detained later that morning after being stopped by gardaí near Naas, county Kildare. These men were also in a vehicle that had been stolen from the property.

Late last night, the men were brought to court, where gardaí were granted a further 24 hours to detain them.

All of the men are being questioned by gardaí about the incident under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act. They are being detained in a number of different garda stations.

During the aggravated burglary last Thursday, two adults and three children were present in the house.
