What part of this comment deserves a red thumb? I know it can happen in error but really? I think disabling comments for such sensitive posts would be wise

for every thousand ‘risky’ cases you MAY get one outcome like this. Imagine the outcry if children in their droves were been taken off parents. Parental responsibility is paramount and as we cannot act on crimes before they happen.

Unfortunately these tragedies happen.

When that woman was murdered in Bristol two Christmases ago her landlord was named by every media outlet as the main suspect, and he had absolutely nothing to do with it.
Until the guards release a definite name it’s unfair to speculate, no matter how obvious it may seem.

Naming someone as a suspect does not infer that they are guilty, it means they are a suspect.

Agreed. If it was a male under suspicion he would be guilty until he was proven innocent. Not only in court but also on this “forum” with calls for death sentences etc.

If that person does turn out to be innocent even having been named will mean she will become a pariah. If she’s innocent then she’s undeservedly going through hell and naming her wouldn’t be fair. If she’s charged then that’s a different story…

Ms Ellie – IMO that is speculation and until a report is issued to state otherwise I would keep that opiniontp yourself. Lets leave the fingerpointing until at least this poor child is laid to rest.
