yellow snow warning

Turn on your electric blankets, icy conditions will continue through the night

Temperatures could drop to -2 degrees tonight. Put the kettle on there.

Updated 10.43pm

MET ÉIREANN HAS warned that it will remain very cold with icy conditions throughout the night and into early morning.

The weather service has issued a status yellow snow-ice warning for Connacht and Ulster. There will be some wintry showers at times though skies will be clear in most areas tonight.

Snow is most likely in the north but is also possible in places further south, especially in hilly areas. Limerick was today hit with heavy snowfalls with AA Roadwatch warning that some areas were impassible this morning.

The current weather warning is in place until 10am tomorrow morning and tonight’s temperatures are predicted to drop to between -2 and 2 degrees, so bundle up.
