21-year-old man stabbed to death in Kilkenny

Gardaí in Kilkenny city are investigating a fatal assault in which one man, 21, was killed and another, 27, injured.

A 21-YEAR-OLD MAN has been fatally stabbed at an apartment in Kilkenny.

Gardaí were called to the apartment at Larchfield Court shortly before 1:30am last night.

They discovered two men with stab wounds, both of whom were taken to St Luke’s hospital in the city.

The 21-year-old died in the hospital some time later, while the second man – a 27-year-old – remains in hospital.

The second man’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A third man, who was in the apartment when Gardaí arrived, was arrested and is currently being detained at Kilkenny Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
