BUILT IN THE mid-1800s, 26 Howth Lodge is a property that’s been restored to suit modern life while maintaining its original and unique charm.
Once upon a time, the ground floor of the 2,000 sq ft home was the summer residence of the Viceroy of Ireland – and its interior reflects the grandeur of its past inhabitant.
Upon entering the property, a marble checkered floor in the entrance hallway leads to the inner hall, complete with wooden parquet flooring and decorative plaster coving. From here, the bright and spacious living room is to the left. With a crystal chandelier, marble fireplace and two bay windows with double doors leading to the patio, the space oozes luxury from the outset.
Accessed from here is the open-plan kitchen and dining room, with hand-painted units, marble counter tops and high quality appliances. At the dining table, there’s room to seat at least eight.
Continuing down the hall, there’s a spacious double bedroom with two bay windows and doors opening once again to two patio areas. An en-suite bathroom extends from this room. Across from here, there’s another bedroom, which is currently used as a study.
To the front of the property is the bright and roomy master bedroom, which boats extensive fitted wardrobes, a large bay window and an en-suite bathroom with a corner shower. Completing the accommodation is the family bathroom.
Throughout the property, high ceilings and large windows add to the feeling of spaciousness, while further impressive features include bespoke timber joinery.
In an exclusive and private location, residents at Number 26 will enjoy stunning views of the nearby Claremont Beach, which is just a short stroll away. Adding to the property’s desirability, Howth village can be reached by foot within 20 minutes.
